Albert Hollander

Let me introduce myself

My name is Albert Hollander and I am managing director (CEO) at Cosanta BV, where I was previously senior researcher and, before that, project manager at TNO. Coming from the field of safety and health at work with a special focus on hazardous substances, I have been involved in Stoffenmanager® since the beginning in 2003. At that time I was programme manager of the VASt programme for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. The aim of this programme was to collaborate with industry on improving conditions of working with hazardous substances, specifically geared to the SME sector for which Stoffenmanager® was the main instrument.

Before this I coordinated for the same ministry the study commissioned by the ministry on working conditions. I began working at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment in 1997 after leaving the University of Wageningen where I had been working at the Health Education faculty and concurrently doing my thesis on occupational asthma and occupational allergy.

Within Cosanta I try to put into practice my thirty or so years of experience in the field of work, health and hazardous substances. I am very proud of what we have been able to achieve with Stoffenmanager® to date. Of course, our aim is to get Stoffenmanager® used as widely as possible by companies throughout the EU.

I live with my family in The Hague. A lot of my spare time is spent with my sporty children and I can often be found at the swimming baths. Whenever I can, I like to be out on the open water, in a sailing dinghy.
